Last weekend was filled great activities. The Rotaract Club of Perdana University had organised a kayaking and tree planting activity in Rotary Peace Park Malaysia, Kuala Selangor which located approximately 60km from Serdang. It is a place full of greenery and all participants really enjoyed the serene environment and it was a great escape from their hectic school worlds. Bus took off from Perdana University hostel around 7.45am and reached the venue at 9.30am. Students were welcomed by President of Rotary club of Bukit Jalil and Taman Melawati. Students were briefed on the importance of the rotary peace park and water reservoir. Then we kick-started with tree planting where students were assigned into groups to plant seedlings. Students then were served free Malay lunch by our Rotary club. Around 1pm, we started with the most awaiting kayaking activity. All students were rendered with safety jackets and guided by a trainer. All students really enjoyed playing in the water and kayaking despite under the scorching heat. Students were taken aback by the marvellous creation of mother nature. After the activity, students were briefed by the President of Rotary club and Rotaract club. The bus then took off around 2.30pm and reached Perdana University hostel around 4.30pm. All students were exhausted and extremely satisfied with their Saturday. This activity has fostered the value of treasuring mother nature into them and strengthen their bond between their peers through team spirit which they portrayed during the activity. The Rotaract club has decided to organise more dun activities like this in future time.
