Public health refers to all organized measures (whether public or private) to prevent diseases, promote health, and prolong life among the population as a whole. Its activities aim to provide conditions in which people can be healthy and focus on entire populations, not on individual patients or diseases.

Curriculum Structure


Who may enrol?

Medical doctors, researchers, nurses, paramedics, nutritionists, bio-technologists, biomedical personnel, other allied health professionals, industrial hygienists, environmental / bio-medical engineers, safety and health officers, as well as other relevant degree holders keen to immerse in the exciting world of public health.

Who will mentor me?

The academic team consists of dedicated and experienced local and foreign academicians, industry players, Ministry of Health officials, and other key stakeholders in the field of Public Health.

How am I assessed?

An array of assessment methods are used in line with the recommendation of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency and in tandem with local and international practices. The different modes of assessment methods used are multiple choice questions written examinations, class test, presentations, case discussions, project work, assignments and dissertation.

Delivery modes

Mode of Study:

A health-related Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and accepted by the Senate of Perdana University
A health-related Bachelor’s degree below a CGPA of 2.50 with a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant field.

Malaysian Students
With the RM14,000 Scholarship, the total tuition fee is now RM20,000.

International Students
With the USD3,500 Scholarship, the total tuition fee is now USD6,400.

Perdana University Scholarship
Qualified students who have successfully gained admission to the Master of Science in Public Health programme are eligible for a scholarship worth RM 14,000 (for Malaysian students) or USD 3,500 (for international students).
