Counselling involves a professional relationship between an individual (client) and a professional (counsellor) to provide guidance based on the matter at hand. A counsellor understands that every human is unique and that every difference is appreciated. Hence, the counsellor demonstrates equality and respect to all differences; regardless of age, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability and socio-economic status. The Perdana University Counselling Unit provides individual and group counselling for students and staff at no charge. Individual counselling is a one-on-one meeting with a counsellor and group counselling involves a meeting with a certain number of clients (2-8 pax) with a counsellor. The Counselling Unit also provides other services such as private consultations, problem solving & decision making skills, personality assessments, mental health problem diagnosis, academic or career related difficulties and personal financial planning.
