University life can be stressful for students especially when exams are near or when living far from home for an extended period of time. Perdana University understands the situations where students may feel overwhelmed or are unsure how to cope with daily university lifem and therefore set up the university’s counselling unit. Counselling involves a professional relationship for students and the counsellor to provide guidance based on the matter at hand. A counsellor understands that every human is unique and that every difference is appreciated. Hence, the counsellor demonstrates equality and respect to all differences; regardless of age, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability and socio-economic status.
The Perdana University Counselling Unit provides individual and group counselling for students and staff at no charge. Individual counselling is a one-on-one meeting with a counsellor and group counselling involves a meeting with a certain number of clients (2-8 pax) with a counsellor.
The Counselling Unit also provides other services such as private consultations, problem-solving and decision-making skills, personality assessments, mental health diagnosis, academic or career related difficulties and personal financial planning.
Using the services of the counselling unit will give you peace of mind and constructive ways of improving your circumstances when you can’t find a way out of a difficult time. The counselling unit is one of the many facilities and services offered to all our students.
