APEL stands for Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning, known as an alternative pathway to career development for adults without formal education.

WHAT IS APEL.A?

“A” refers to “Access”. It provides access or opportunities to individuals who have relevant working experience but does not meet the minimum academic qualification to pursue higher degree at tertiary institutions providing admission/access into a programme of study. APEL.A is designed especially for the working professionals and Perdana University offers a range of programmes to meet the academic aspirations of these working adults through a well-oiled and adult learner friendly support mechanism.

FAQ

APEL is short for Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning. This is an initiative by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency to develop the country’s human capital by promoting higher education to working adults and encouraging lifelong learning.

APEL.A provides an opportunity for those who have work experience but lack qualifications or no academic qualifications to continue their studies at the Institute of Higher Education.

APEL T6: Minimum age 21 years old
At least SPM qualification or equivalent
Relevant working experience
APEL T7:
Minimum 30 years old
At least STPM/ Diploma or equivalent
Relevant working experience

For aptitude test, you may re-sit up to maximum 2 times only. Charges apply for re-sits and re-submissions.

Since you selected PU as your APEL Assessment Centre, the fee has to be paid to PU. Method of payment is via online payment.

Based on MQA criteria: For Bachelor (Level T6) candidates : TWO (2) months from the application date.

For Master (Level T7) candidates: THREE (3) months from the application date.

Yes, each APEL.A Certificate is valid for 5 years from the date your APEL.A assessment results is released.

No, the APEL.A Certificate can only be used to fulfil the entry requirements of the programme of interest.
