APEL stands for Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning. It is a process that recognizes and accredits the knowledge and skills gained through work experience, non-formal learning, and other experiential learning. APEL empowers individuals to pursue higher education based on their prior learning.
APEL provides an alternative pathway for adults who lack formal education to leverage their experience for career development. Through APEL, they can gain access to undergraduates or postgraduate programmes (APLE.A), or shorten their study duration (APEL.C). The systematic process identifies, documents, and assesses prior experiential learning from the aspects of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. This determines the extent to which an individual has achieved the desires learning outcomes, or their goal of accessing a programmes of study and award of credits.
APEL.A enables individuals with work experience to pursue higher education if they lack of the formal academic qualifications needed for normal entry into university programmes.
PERDANA UNIVERSITY is an MQA-approved APEL.A Assessment Centre. APEL.A is available to all Malaysians to support the nation’s efforts to enhance its human capital.

APEL.A REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor
Must be over 21 years old in the year of application
Must show evidence of relevant work experience/prior experiential learning
Must be over 30 years old in the year of application.
Must possess at least STPM/Diploma/A-Levels or equivalent qualification. Must show evidence of relevant work experience/ prior experiential learning
