JOB OBJECTIVE:

  • The Department of Clinical Competence   coordinates   the clinical skills teaching module from Junior Cycle to Senior Cycle (Year 1-Year 5). During the course, the students will get the opportunities to meet simulated patients and patients in the clinical skills setting.
  • We seek a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor who is able to teach clinical skills to the undergraduate medical students. Reporting to the Lead/Director of Clinical Competence and to the Dean of School of Medicine, he/she is expected to demonstrate a student-centered approach in his/her teaching. He/She is expected to have the capacity to support, facilitate and to inspire medical students in their learning. He/She   is   also   expected   to   demonstrate   a   passion   for self­ development/advancement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

CLINICAL COMPETENCE- JUNIOR CYCLE 1,2,3; INTERMEDIATE CYCLE 1,2,3; SENIOR CYCLE 1,2
  • Organising and delivering specific aspects of the programme (JC1-SC2).
  • Delivering Lectures that are covered by the Department of Clinical Competence- JC1-SC2.
  • Organising and contributing to the delivery of the end-of -semester examinations (JC1- SC2).
  • Participate in Junior Cycle, Intermediate Cycle and Senior Cycle formative and summative assessments.
  • To contribute to the development and to the revision of the clinical skills curriculum (JC1- SC2).
  • To contribute to the administrative needs of the department.
